On September 2, 2023, God called Alphonso “Al” Uylesses George a precious servant to receive his glorious crown.\n\nAlphonso “Al” Uylesses George was born to Carolyn and Richard George, Jr. in Brooklyn, New York on October 17, 1968. He is proceeded in death by his sister Lakeesha George; maternal grandparents Lottie and Whalon Perry; paternal grandparents Lubertha and Richard George, Sr.; uncle Alphonso “Jim” George; and his nephew Tayshone Perry.\n\nAt an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at St. John’s Baptist Church, Queens, New York. He later joined Saint Paul’s Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia where he remained a devoted member for many years.\n\nAl completed his educational journey at Beach Channel High School, Queens, New York. Later attending J. Sargent Reynolds Community College. He was the proud owner of SJS Cleaning Solutions for over 25 years. \n\nAl was a long time and faithful member of King David Lodge No. 28, Free and Accepted Masons Prince Hall Affiliated where he rose to the rank of Past Worshipful Master after serving in leadership from 2012-2014 and most recently from 2022-2023. He served the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Virginia, F & AM, Inc., as the Past Worshipful Grand Assistant CCFC. He was highly involved in helping new members learn rites and progress through the degrees of freemasonry. He was a proud member of Mocha Temple No. 7 and Richmond Consistory No. 22. \n\nAl will be remembered for his loving kindness, his great sense of humor, his dedication to helping others succeed, but most of all spending time with family, traveling, spending time in the mountains, his favorite NFL Team – Las Vegas Raiders and supporting the masonic family.\n\nAl leaves to cherish loving memories and a beautiful legacy to his wife Towanda George, three daughters Shanae George, Desiree Mack(Camion), and Bryanda Epps, four sons; Brandon George, John George, Thomas Wilson, and Bryan Epps, Parents; Richard Jr. and Carolyn George, Sister; Marilyn Payne(Gary), four grandchildren Kaison Taylor-George, Journey Mack, Cori Mack, and Denim Mack, Aunts; Wendy Cooper(Christopher) and Merian George Campbell, uncles; Al Perry(Kimberly), Larry Perry(Tracie) and Danny Perry(Rhonda); In-Laws Carolyn H. Brooks and Thomas Cheatham, nieces; Kalisha Jackson, Rayne George, and Ketara Cain, Nephews; David Perry (Ashley), Great-nephew; Kadence Harris, God-Daughter Nicole “Nikki” Wilkerson, and a host of other devoted cousins, family and friends.\n\nFamily will receive friends Friday, September 8, 2023 from 5-7:00PM.
