Amir T. Clarke Sr Obituary (1983 - 2025)

It is with great sadness that the family of ‘Amir Tariq Clarke, Sr. announces his passing on November 29, 2025, at the age of 42. Born on February 5, 1983, in Alexandria, Virginia, to Calvin R. and Joy L. Clarke. Amir was raised in the Southside, West End, and Chesterfield areas of Richmond, Virginia. He was a devoted father whose greatest joy was spending time with his son, his fiancée, and the family dog, Fritz. Known for his caring nature, athleticism, impeccable style, and passion for tending to his lawn, Amir brought beauty and intention to everything he touched. He deeply admired his siblings and took pride in their accomplishments, always their unwavering cheerleader, loyal supporter, and naturally appointed bodyguard. Amir was recognized for his sharp sense of fashion and love of travel, especially when it came to experiencing new places in comfort and luxury. Whether nurturing his yard or uplifting others, he carried a spirit of generosity that left a lasting impact. If he knew you had a need, he met it, never expecting anything in return. Throughout his life, Amir called on God, “Yahweh,” with faith and gratitude, rejoicing in His love. His devotion to family and friends was constant, and his determination to be the best father and a strong example to his son and nephews never wavered. He formed lifelong friendships with ease, his vibrant personality left an imprint on everyone he encountered. Those who knew him can easily imagine his joyful spirit now, surely backflipping in heaven. Amir is survived by his parents; fiancée, Ebony McClary; son, ‘Amir Tariq Clarke Jr.; brother, Ashanti Clarke; sister, Sua’ve Clarke-Evans; brother-in-love, James Evans; nephews, Royal Bailey and Legend Evans; niece, Charleigh Clarke; and a host of loving family and friends. A celebration of life will be announced after the holidays to honor Amir appropriately.
