Andre C. Carter

Andre Cortez Carter, affectionately known as “Dre,” was born in Richmond, VA on June 17, 1975, to the late Franklin Lee Whittle and Linda Carolyn Carter. He peacefully departed this world on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital, Forest.

Dre was educated in the Richmond Public School System and later received his GED.

He was a very good and kind person, making friends wherever he went. Although Dre faced many challenges on this side, he showed perseverance in obtaining an electrician’s certificate, excelling as a forklift driver, and even serving as a staff cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Lee Whittle and Linda Carolyn Carter, as well as his baby girl, Trinity Carter.

Dre leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Drevon Edmonds and Andre Taylor; a brother, Rev. F. Wayne Henley (Rev. Francine); two sisters, Melinda Carter and Jaquetta Whittle; two grandchildren, Andre Taylor, Jr. and Alani Taylor; five nephews; four nieces; five aunts, Rebecca Miller, Earlean, Estelle, Barbara Carter, and Brenda Woodbury; one uncle, Willie J. “Donnie” Carter; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and loving friends, one devoted, Lashandra Hunter.
