Annie L. Coleman

–

Powhatan, Virginia

Annie “Louise” Coleman of Powhatan County, VA was called home Saturday September 5, 2026 with her family by her side. Born July 18, 1927, Louise was blessed with 99 years of life. She accepted Christ at an early age, serving at Beulah and Pinehill Baptist Churches. Most recently, she attended Bethel Baptist Church alongside her son until her health declined.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Charlie Coleman; her sister Florence Taylor; and her brother Monroe Reed. Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her beloved children, Leon Sylvester Reed and Jeanette (Wayne) Christian; her heartbeats and grandchildren, Jay, Courtney and Timothy Christian; and one great granddaughter, Azia.

Surrounded by the love and devoted care of her family and God’s protection, she lived a healthy, full and blessed life. We give God praise for the time He allowed us to return the sacrifices she made for us. Until her final week with us, she lovingly split time between her home in Powhatan with her son, and her daughter’s home. Her home was where she was happiest, and she cherished the life she had built there.

We cannot forget her many friends and family who have passed on before, nor their children who have filled the gaps in friendship, calls and love shown to her. To name a few: Diane Porter, whom mom considered a daughter; Mrs. Mary Alice Eggleston, for your faithful phone calls and cards; Joyce Taylor and Margaret Middleton, her devoted nieces; Rosa Taylor, for your prayers and reflections on the friendship shared by our mothers; and Glenda Townes, her loving cousin, who kept watch over mom throughout the years when she lived independently in her home. Though we cannot name you all, know that you were treasured by her, and we are grateful for your presence in her life.

When you journeyed from your house to mine, you would be quick to ask, “When am I going back home?”

Mom, you are back home now. No more traveling.

Take your rest,

We love you,
Jeanette, Sylvester and the Grandchildren
