MOSBY, Brenda Bowie, 75, died peacefully April 26, 2022, after a lengthy battle with dementia. She was born October 19, 1946 to the late Clyde M. Bowie, Sr. and Louise Seate Bowie. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of Second Baptist Church, South Richmond. She attended Richmond Public Schools, graduated from Armstrong High School in 1964 and continued her education at Virginia Union University. She was employed as an Office Services Specialist for the Virginia Department of Health and retired in 2009 after 35 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed shopping, singing and spending quality time with family and close friends. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Benjamin Mosby; children, Brandon (Robin) and Benae; stepchildren, Sharon Mosby and Anthony Mosby; brother, Clyde Bowie, Jr.; and granddaughters, Madison and Savannah. She also leaves to cherish her memory brother-in-law, William Mosby; sisters-in-law, Mabel Mosby, Alice McNeil, Doris Mosby, and Vivian McLeod Bowie; cherished friends, Pat Whitfield and Carolyn Hatcher, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where public viewing will take place Monday, May 2, 2022. Funeral services to be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at noon, at Second Baptist Church, 3300 Broad Rock Blvd. Rev. Ralph Hodge officiating. Interment following at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
