Bruce Alvin Clayton affectionately known to family and friends as "Black" or "Bishop", was born on February 8, 1981, to Ms. Doris Clayton and the late Mr. Bruce Alvin Brown. On September 19, 2025, Bruce peacefully entered into eternal rest.
He was preceded in death by his beloved children, Traekwon and Myelle. Father Bruce Alvin Brown and Grandmother, Dorothy Ingram.
Bruce received his education through the Richmond Public School and later earned his G.E.D. He was employed at Stranges as a floral deliverer, where his presence was always marked by his signature smile. If you knew Bruce, you knew that every delivery came with a little joy.
Black was special to each of us for different reasons, but one truth was universal - he gave love freely, and in return, that love was given back. Bruce was baptized at the Pentecostal Church of Christ, where he attended faithfully with his grandmother, Dorothy Ingram, who lovingly reared and raised him. Their bond was unbreakable, and from it grew the foundation for his deep love and compassion for others.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Dorothy (Wayne) Wilson; grandmother, Dorothy Clayton; his children, Tierra, Mi'Yahna, Marquan, Alvontae, and Amarii; grandchildren, Railyn, JayR, Kaiden, and Karson; siblings, Thomas and Dazzmen Clayton, Sheree, Josh, Isiah, Jennifer and Wayne Brown, Dineisha Keitt, and Lakeisha Francis; aunts and uncles, Doris (Reginald) Carroll, Alfred (Freda) Ellis, and Steve Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He also leaves behind devoted loved ones: The Simms Family, Charnte, TBoo, Rita, Muscle Nephew, and Charlene, along with his best friend, Sadarius "Biz" Moseley.
Bruce's life was a testimony of love, resilience, and faith. Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in knowing he is at peace.
"I have fought a good fight, i have finished my course, I have kept the faith."
