Calista Renee Puryear, affectionately known by her family as “Lisa” and by her friends as “Cee Cee” was born on November 19,1967, to Jean Marie Tanner-Puryear and the late Thomas Drake Puryear.\n\nCalista transitioned on October 30, 2023, from this life to alife of eternal peace with God. A God whom she loved and worshiped. She was baptized in the Baptist Faith at the age of 15 at our family church, First Baptist Church of South Richmond, where she attended services frequently as her health allowed.\n\nCalista was educated In Richmond Public Schools and attended Armstrong High School, and Ruthledge College where she studied nursing. She was employed by Ephesus Day Care Center, which she loved because her son was also enrolled there.\n\nShe later worked for Supportive Employment of Virginia. As a housekeeper and laundry aid, a job she loved and people she enjoyed working with, this gave her a great sense of pride.\n \nCalista loved her family, and her family loved her. We would frequently get together for birthdays, holidays, and cookouts. You name it, we did it together as a family.\n\nCalista leaves to cherish her precious memories to her loving and devoted son, Renaldo Puryear "Rico" (Jenae), and One Granddaughter, Londyn, who was the “apple of her eye”. A loving, caring, and devoted mother, Jean, and Stepfather, James, whom she simply adored, and who ran every time she called. One brother, Nathaniel, and six sisters, Lynette (Weldon), Trina (Lindsey), Myah, Illeana (Bret) Tiesha (Antonio), and Alexia(Keon). Loving aunt, Lucy Hill, uncle, Wendell Howlett, Sr. Six nieces, Six nephews, and a host of cousins, family, and friends. Devoted and loving friends, Jenita Albert and Barabra Gattison.
