Mrs. Callie M. Byrd, of Newport News, formerly of Richmond, departed this life November 13, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Byrd; and son, Calvin Byrd. She is survived by her children, Arnold Byrd (Kye Suk), Anthony Byrd, Shelia Rose (Randy) and Vanessa Jackson; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where family will receive friends Monday, 6 to 7 p.m., and where funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 18, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Maurice Webb officiating. Interment Mount Calvary Cemetery.
