Calvin Walthall

Calvin George Walthall drew his last breath on Monday April18, 2016. The son of Lucille Mabel Walthall Payne, he was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on Dec. 3, 1944. Loved by all his family, he spent most of his life in residential facilities for the intellectually challenged: Southbury Training School in CT, Jones &Jones, Buchanan's Rest Home, and Envoy of Westover Hills in VA. Predeceased by his mother, stepfathers: Frederick Douglas, and Alfred Payne, his brother Alfred Lipford, and brother-in-law Michael W. Rice, Calvin leaves his sisters Dorothy Marie Rice, Lucille Patrica Forbes (David), Pency Margaret Thomas (Jerome), Gwendolyn Douglas, Aunt Clara Ann Walthall, sister-in-law Gloria Lipford (Al), and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins with cherished memories. A memorial service will be at Mimms Funeral Home on Saturday, April23, 3:00p.m.
