Senior Elder Clarence Edward Bervine, Sr. was born on November 14, 1941, to the late Lewis and Marian Bervine in Barhamsville, VA. Clarence attended New Kent County Public Schools and as a young man he moved to Williamsburg, VA. Clarence was employed at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg and became a member of the Way of the Cross Apostolic Faith Church where he sang in the choir. He met and married his first wife Sherry Bervine. They were blessed with four daughters and two sons together and moved to Richmond, VA. Over the years, Clarence was further blessed with three daughters and a son. Clarence was hardworking and he liked to have a good time. He was good with his hands, from carpentry to roofing, he was always ready to take on a new challenge. He also had a love for cars, from driving a nice car to working on them. His handsomeness and warm personality made a lasting impression on everyone he met. Clarence had a servant’s heart. He was willing to assist anyone who sought his help. Clarence eventually met and married his second wife Gloria Bervine and was blessed with two stepdaughters and grandchildren. He was married to his beloved Gloria for more than 30 years before she was recently called to be with the Lord. He worked at Westvaco in Richmond for many years, retiring after more than 40 years of service. Clarence joined The Tower of Deliverance Church under the leadership of the late Apostle James L. Moore, Sr., more than 30 years ago. He was a devoted and faithful member of the church, having served in multiple roles over the years. He eventually became a senior elder in the church. Clarence is preceded in death by his devoted wife Missionary Gloria Bervine and parents Lewis and Marian Bervine. Clarence leaves to cherish his memories: his dedicated brother Deacon Robert “Bobby” Bervine (Rebecca, devoted sister-in-law); sister Teresa Anderson, god-sisters Irene Randall and Doris Cheeks; seven daughters, Estelle Bervine, Yolanda Bervine-Jones, Jacqueline Bervine-Hickman, Loretta Davis, Cassandra Bervine, Cora Clarke- Johnson, and Charnetta Robinson Lester (Kevin); three sons, Clarence E. Bervine, Jr., Pierce Bervine, Sr. (Georgette), and Clarence Maurice Blackwell; two stepdaughters, Carol Parham and Avis Yolanda Parham-Johnson (Verron); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; niece Tabatha Bervine; godson Apostle Robbie Thomas; and a host of other loving family and friends.
