Clarence A. Lee, Sr. Obituary (1930 - 2021)

On January 2, 1930, Clarence Alonzo Lee was born to the late Lucille Branch Lee and Thomas Lee. Clarence went home to the Lord on July 22, 2021. His wife of 56 years, Gloria Harris Lee, preceded him in death as did their daughter, Jacqueline Jeannette Lee. Clarence was born and raised in Chesterfield County and built his home and business next to his parents. He became a member of his family church, First Baptist Midlothian, early in life. Following his graduation from Hickory Hill High School, he enlisted in the Army. He rose to the rank of Master Sargent and earned a Bronze Star. Upon his return Clarence completed the electrical trade at Virginia State College (now VSU). In 1965 he founded Midlothian Electric Company achieving the credentials of Master Electrician. In 1991 he became an Ordained Deacon at First Baptist Midlothian and served where needed in several local churches, most notably Friendship Baptist and Brown Grove Baptist. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Clinton (Grace); Robert (Catherine), and sister, Lucille "Louise" Lee Dean (Stuart). Surviving to cherish his memory are his children: Lauranett L. Ph.D., Clarence A. Jr. (Rose) of Woodbridge, Va; Quenton R. (Meredith Saunders), and Renea, C.; and former daughter in law, LaTika Johnson Lee. Grandchildren: Travon Matthews, Taylor Morman, Brandon Flowers, Christopher Lee, and Lorraine Lee. Great-grandchildren: Journey Lee and Kamea Yarborough. Devoted brother, Thomas Emerson Lee (Lucy) and dedicated sister-in-law, Luvenia Harris Cummings. Cousins: Annie Lee, Francis Lee, Marilyn Branch Mitchell (Greg), Kathy Branch-Jones (Hector), Charles Branch, and Lorraine Randolph. He was loved by many nieces and nephews. His many, loving caregivers brought comfort and joy to him daily. A wake will be held on Thursday, July 29 at Mimms Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. The Funeral will be held at Mimms on Friday, at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park.
