Our beloved Deacon Clifford Holden began his life on August 14, 1930, born to the late Esau & Mary Holden in Marianna, Florida.\n\nHe confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church in Marianna, Florida. Upon relocating to New Jersey in May of 1957. He was a faithful Deacon, member of the Men’s Choir and a member of the Outreach Ministry at Faith Baptist Church in Pleasantville, New Jersey.\n\nHe worked many years as a cook in Atlantic City. He was later employed for over 30 years by Atlantis formally known as The Playboy Hotel and Casino. In his spare time, he loved fishing and gardening.\n\nClifford was preceded in death by his son & daughter-in-law, Cleveland and Harriet Holden and grandson, Jason Smith. Also, two sisters, Elizabeth Holden, Melissa Holden, and brother Johnny Holden. \n\nHe leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife Teresa Holden of Richmond, Virginia; three sons,\n\nClaude (Johnease)Holden, Clever Holden both of Marianna, Florida; Lamont C. Adams, and step-son, Thomas Perry of Richmond, Virginia; two daughters, Evelyn Holden of Pensacola, Florida and Etta Holden of Marianna, Florida; seven sisters: Rosetta Holden, Lola(Ralph) Douglas, both of Marianna, Florida; Annie Mae Paramore of Wichita, Kansas; Julia Holden and Louis Sullivan of Cleveland, Ohio; Jean (James) Bridges of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Amanda Holden-Epps of Pleasantville, New Jersey; four brothers: Kasaw Holden, Lonnie (Willie Mae) Holden, Charles(Delores) Holden, all of Marianna, Florida; Frankie (Kathleen ) Holden of McKee City, New Jersey; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grand children and 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends; and a very special and close friend Bro. Michael Bell. \n\nA special thanks to his granddaughters Juwannia Holden-Mumphery, Cherita Holden-Mansfield and Tamirah Perry.
