Craig Turpin

Craig Cephas Turpin unexpectedly departed this life on September 3, 2026 in Richmond, Virginia. He was born on May 5, 1967 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Roland Lincoln Turpin and the late LaVerne Buckner Turpin.

Craig was raised in Plainfield, New Jersey, and later relocated to Richmond, Virginia, to be with family. A product of Richmond Public Schools, Craig attended Huguenot High School (Jefferson-Huguenot–Wythe) and was a member of the graduating Class of 1985.

Craig briefly attended Virginia State University, where he developed a love for artistry. In later years, Craig was employed by Goodwill Industries. Upon early retirement, Craig enjoyed spending quality time with family and traveling.

Family meant the world to Craig. He always showed compassion for others and was beyond generous with his time. Craig was never without his canine companions and carried himself with a great deal of style! He enjoyed keeping abreast of the latest news, listening to classic ‘80s and ‘90s music and rooting for his birthplace’s sports teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and 76ers. Craig never complained during his health challenges and always remained faithful in Christ.

Craig will be dearly missed by many. Those who will cherish his memory and carry on his legacy include his loving father, Roland L. Turpin; brothers, Marc R. Turpin and Guy B. Turpin; devoted sister, Lauren A. Turpin; nephews, Julian A. Davis and Jaden C. Zahniser-Turpin; nieces, Mariah N. Oakley and Jade A. Turpin; great-nephew and nieces, Jaylan A. Davis, Romia L. Davis and Maleah L. Lainez; uncle, Kenneth B. Turpin and a host of other beloved family members and friends.
