With profound love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Cynthia “BooBoo” Hagood, who was called to eternal rest on Friday, September 4th, at the age of 72.
Born on August 17, 1954, in Richmond, Virginia, Cynthia was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness, warmth, and vibrant spirit touched all who knew her.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mable Fountain; her father, Joseph Fountain; and her sister, Rose Marie Fountain.
She matriculated through the Baltimore County Public Schools and the Chesterfield County Public Schools, later continuing her education at John Tyler Community College.
Cynthia enjoyed a successful career at Life Insurance Company of Virginia and also served as the Director of Children's World Learning Center, where she dedicated herself to the care and development of countless children. Her nurturing nature, compassionate heart, and genuine love for others earned her the admiration and affection of everyone she met.
Family was the center of Cynthia’s life. She loved deeply and unconditionally, especially the nieces and nephews in her family, who held a special place in her heart. She found joy in planting beautiful flowers, surrounding herself with vibrant colors, and creating warmth wherever she went. A devoted mother, Cynthia wholeheartedly supported her daughters’ passions always encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted husband of more than 50 years, Willie Hagood; her three loving daughters, Patricia Hagood: Skye Hagood (Koltyn), and Jami Hagood; her sisters, Sylvia Hughes (Eric) and Peggy Claiborne (Tyrone); her brother, Marvin Fountain; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Cynthia, affectionately known as “BooBoo,” will be remembered for her free spirit, fun-loving personality, infectious smile, love of flowers, and unwavering devotion to family. Her life was a beautiful reflection of love, strength, generosity, and grace.
Though she is no longer with us in body, Cynthia’s legacy of love will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
“Her beauty was not only in the flowers she planted, but in the love she sowed in the lives of others.”
