Deacon Charles Goode, Sr. Obituary (1926 - 2022)

Deacon Charles Goode, Sr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Hospital. His final days were spent surrounded by his family whose lives he touched during his 95 years of life. He was born December 28,1926 and was educated in the Richmond Public Schools System. Charles formerly worked for the Hunter Holmes McGuire Hospital, Virginia Transit Company, and Consolidated Cigar Co. He could make anything with his hands and spent his latter years as a checker champion, playing dominoes and putting together jigsaw puzzles. He serves as Deacon Emeritus at Cedar Street Baptist Church of God and later attended Life in the Vine Fellowship Church and Victory Tabernacle Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian M. Goode; son, Charles Goode, Jr.; mother, Edmonia Goode Johnson; and brother, Eugene Goode. Charles leaves to celebrate his legacy and cherish his memories loving daughters, Co-Pastor Gainell I. Pollard and husband Pastor Herbert O. Pollard, Sr.; Janette D. Pollard; caregivers daughter Gloria G. Silva and husband Roy L .Silva, granddaughter Whitley M. Silva, and grandson, Daniel X. Silva; six grandchildren, Herbert O. Pollard, Jr.(Patrice), Frazier C. Pollard, Sr., (Candice), Joy M. Richardson (Michael), Deshannon D. Knox, Whitney S. Earley and Whitley M. Silva; 19 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren, special friend, Rocio Carrillo (caregiver); and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends. Viewing Thursday, November 17, 2022. A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 18, 2022 at 1:00PM at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St. Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to service. Interment Maury Cemetery
