Diana L. Jefferson

–

Richmond, Virginia

Diana “Diane” Lynn Jefferson was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on June 27, 1949, and transitioned on January 9, 2026, in Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father Oscar L. and mother Willie Mae Burnett, sisters Linda and Paula, nephew Derrick, and sister-in-law Nora. She is survived by her sister Sandra, brothers Kenneth (Liz) and Fredrick, great-aunt Hilda, including four nieces, five nephews, a generational host of cousins, and friends.

Throughout Diane’s life she was a wife, daughter, sister and friend. She lived in Texas, California, and Savannah, Georgia before making Richmond her permanent home. While she delved into a variety of careers during her early years, she was adamant to become an entrepreneur to influence her time and earnings with something she loved. She was creative and admired making people feel a certain way. She was an avid crafter of baskets filled with items to celebrate Easter, Mother’s and Father's Day. One of the local newspapers featured her in an article highlighting her artistry and personalization, including the impact on customers who patronized her business for several decades. She thrived because she made others happy and profited well.

Diane was described by many as kind, generous, loyal, humorous, and quite a determined survivor. She knew how to have big fun and had an infectious laugh. Her spirit will forever be in our hearts, “I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

The family entrusted Diane’s final care to Mimms Funeral Home, where a memorial service is scheduled Friday, January 23, 11:00 a.m.
