Doris G. Mason

MASON, Doris G., 84, of Richmond, departed this life on August 5, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius A. Mason; two sons, Alphonso Sr. and Ronnie Mason. She is survived by her daughters, LaVerne Mashore, Ruby Mason, and Karen Brooks (Michael Sr.); son, Kenneth Mason Sr.; two grandchildren who she reared as her own, Shelise Mason Evans and Lacesheia Mason Threatts; 12 other grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Clara Patron (John), Clifton Taylor, Zeldna Clark (William), and Frances Taylor; two brothers, Claude Turner and John Al Turner (Maranda); Daughter-in-law, Thelma Mason; sisters-in-law, Magnolia and Jacqueline Turner; caregiver, Johnette Marion; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull Street where the family will receive friends Monday (today), 6 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 11, 1 p.m. at Brown Grove Baptist Church, 12816 Bailey Bridge Road, Rev. Andrew T. Carey, pastor, eulogy by Dr. Samuel Robinson. Interment in the church cemetery.
