Dorothy E. Solomon

Dorothy Edmonia Solomon, the daughter of the late George W. Solomon and the late Mary {Bassett} Solomon was born June 8, 1942

in Richmond Virginia.

At an early age Dorothy lived with her paternal grandparents Frances and Norwood Solomon in Enfield North Carolina.

During that time she was baptized and became a member of Downs Chapel Baptist Church. She was a member of the Childrens

Choir and enjoyed performing in other special programs.

Later Dorothy and her sister moved back to Richmond and became members of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. She

attended George Mason Elementary and Armstrong High School. She liked playing baseball and participating in skill games.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and always encouraged them to be good citizens and good

students. She took great pride in celebrating their hard word. Even in sickness Dorothy remained positive and optimistic. She always had a smile and kind words for those who visited her.

Dorothy was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday March 3, 2018 at the Manor Care health facility. She joined her parentsand her son Ronald.

She leaves to cherish her memories her three sons, Calvin Carolina and wife Eugena, Anthony and Lorenzo Solomon

9 Grandchildren 8 great-grand children, her sisters Blanch Ryan and husband {William} of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Paulette

Newman, her nieces, April and Payton Boyd of Dumfries Virginia and her Nephew Anson Ryan of Dumfries, Virginia

her Uncle James Solomon of Philadelphia, PA and uncle Anderson Davis of Enfield N.C. As well as a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 Mimms Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00AM. Interment Maury Cemetery.
