Mrs. Evelyn E. Henley, of Powhatan County, departed this life June 27, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe L. Henley; and her sister, Dorothy Clarke. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Colette Henley Allen and Keith; two sons, Tyrone (Tiris) and Arone Henley (Angela); four grandchildren, Michael, Tyrone Jr., LaShonda and LaTasha; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Waddy and Katherine Pegram; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; among them two devoted nieces, El Clarke and Theresa Hunt; three sisters-in-law, seven brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends, among them a devoted friend, Margaret Watson. Special gratitude to Edith Hollice and Tiffany Lightfoot with Care Advantage.

Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where the family will receive friends Tuesday (today), 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 2, 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Powhatan County. Rev. Warren Lewis, pastor, officiating. Interment in St. James Baptist Church Cemetery, Powhatan County.
