Georgia Walker

Georgia Delores Walker, was born on July 25, 1964, to the late Ruth and Frank Christian. She was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 7, 2016.

Georgia received theLord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age.

Georgia attended elementary school in Richmond, Virginia, where she later graduated from Armstrong High School. While in high school, she played basketball and was nicknamed "Juice".

Georgia learned to cook from her mother at an early age. She was a fantastic cook and she really enjoyed cooking for everyone. After graduation, she started her culinary career, working at the Marriott Hotel. Georgia also worked several years for Aramark/Sodexho. Ultimately, she landed her dream job as a Food Services Director at Ginter Hall South. Her patients and co-workers adored her.

In 1994, Georgia met and fell in love with her husband of 21 years, Gregory Walker.

Georgia especially loved holidays and spending time with her family. She really loved old school music and singing karaoke. Her main passion was hosting get-togethers for all of the children in her life. She did Easter Egg hunts, back to school drives, pool parties, sleep overs and countless other events.

Georgia leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Gregory Walker; son, NaGee Dabney; brothers, Lynwood E. Jones, Anthony L. Jones (Angela), and Daniel A. Christian (Shirley); mother and father in-law, Mary & William Walker; devoted sister in law, Patricia W. Brown; brothers in law, Ronald, William & Wendell Walker; devoted nieces, Tomika & Linia Jones; God children, Geonna Crawford &Donald Rashae Gray; devoted friends, Yolanda Crawford, Tammy Jones, Nicole Smith, Peggy Porter, Diane Harvey, Lisa Loiseau; friend in heaven, Tina C. Lewis, and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where the family will receive friends Sunday from 6-7 pm. Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 14, 2016 at 12 Noon at Zion Baptist Church, 2006 Decatur St. Interment Maury Cemetery.
