Gregory Rollins

Richmond, Virginia

Gregory Oneal Rollins departed this life on February 11, 2025, to rest in the arms of the Lord for eternity.

Born on August 19, 1965, in Queens, New York, Gregory was the beloved son of Jeremiah and Marion Rollins and the loving brother of 3 sisters and one brother. At an early age, Gregory was baptized at the Galilee Baptist Church. The Rollins family then became members of the First Baptist Church of South Richmond, where Greg was an active member before his health prevented him from attending regularly.

Gregory attended L. C. Bird High School and graduated in 1984. He continued his education at the New York Institute of Technology, after which he worked as a program analyst for Bank of America for 25 years. During this time, he met the love of her life, Barbara Ann Worsham, and the two were married on July 19, 1997. From this union, God blessed them with a precious baby girl, Alexus Michelle Rollins.

Due to numerous health challenges, Greg was forced to leave his position at Bank of America. However, despite the setbacks, he remained positive and upbeat, never losing his faith in God, no matter what life threw his way.

He loved spending time with his devoted wife and daughter and attending family events. For Greg, family was everything. His other favorite pastime was music. He was a fantastic DJ—a talent he loved to share with his family and friends, and he faithfully served in the Music and Sound Ministry at the First Baptist Church of South Richmond. He was also a lifelong Eagles fan. Fortunately, he was able to witness their stellar Super Bowl win just days before his passing.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Rollins.

Gregory leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Alexus; his parents, Jeremiah and Marion Rollins; three sisters, Sonji Tucker (Raymond, Sr), Wanda Rollins, and Pamela Bowman (Quint); one brother, Duane Rollins (Tina); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Known for his resilience, quiet strength, and gentle spirit, Gregory will be remembered as a loving father, a loyal friend, and a man of integrity.
His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his legacy will inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
