Harold Linwood Smith

SMITH, Harold Linwood, departed this life on September 4, 2018. He was born in Midlothian, VA on February 19, 1949 to Walter and Thelma Draper Smith. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Carolyn Smith Wells. He is survived by his daughter Candice Antria Smith, sons Brian Linwood Smith and Linwood Rocshee Smith, granddaughter Maya Smith, and grandsons Rasheed Smith and Chance Smith . He is also survived by his brother Walter Smith (Marie), sisters, Shirley Smith and Annie Smith, nieces Crystal Smith, Virginia Wells, greatnephew, Kamil Lannaman, and a host of cousins and friends. Harold graduated from Midlothian High School in 1967 and was one of the first African American students to attend Midlothian in 1963. He was active in sports (football, track) at Midlothian and later attended Virginia Union University where he continued his passion for sports as a football player. Harold was a Vietnam Era veteran but was blessed to not see combat in Southeast Asia. He joined First Baptist Church of Midlothian in his youth and at the time of death was a dedicated member of the United Church of God. In keeping with Harold's wishes, there will be a memorial service at a later date.
