Mr. James M. Hill, Sr. of Richmond, VA departed this life on Monday, January 16, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital, in Midlothian, Virginia when God sent his angels to escort him to eternal rest.\n\n\n\nJames was born November 22, 1930, to the late Addie Hill-Smith and Thomas (Strap) Hill, of Stoney Creek, VA. At an early age, he was baptized and attended church with his family. He later attended Fourth Baptist in Richmond, VA. He attended school in Stoney Creek and often spoke of great memories and good times with his family.\n\n\n\nJames later moved to Richmond Virginia as a young man and married the love of his life Edna Mae Mashore, where he resided for many years and raised his family there. He worked and retired from the city of Richmond.\n\n\n\nHe was predeceased by his wife Edna Mae Mashore-Hill, Son Terry Hill, sisters, Ethel Mae Hill-Parham, Hazel Hill-Butcher and Emmerline Hill, and Uncle Silas Flowers.\n\n\n\nLeft to cherish his memory\n\none sister, Anna Sease-Bey of Petersburg, VA; brothers, Seafus Hill both of Richmond, VA, and Linwood Hill of New Jersey.\n\n\n\nDevoted son, James M, Hill, Jr.(Rhonda), Anthony Hill and Pamela Hill. Grand children, Shaun Hill (Jayce), Alacesha Hill, Synclare Hill, and Miles Hill. Seven great-grandchildren, Rhianna, Jeremiah, Skylynn, Stormi, Sadie, Syanna, and Colten.\n\n\n\nSister in Law Evangelist Barbara Mashore , brother in Law Willie Lee Mashore, nieces and nephews, Melody Mashore, Travell Mashore, Silas Flowers, Jr. Stacy Randolph, Dawn Randolph-Burton, Cynthia Wilks, Stephen Hill, Sandra Bailey, Calvin, Butcher, Ann Porch, Winfred Butcher, Addie Butcher, John Butcher, Brenda Butcher, Herbert Butcher, Dawn Burton, and Stacy Hill and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
