Celebration of Life\n\nBiographical Reflections\n\nAnother spirit has taken flight\n\n\n\n\n\nMr. Jessie Brown Johnson, age 63, peacefully departed this life at home on Monday, January 23, 2023, after battling health issues.\n\nHe was born, December 30, 1959 to late Roosevelt Brown and Lula Mae Brown, in Lancaster, SC. He was the oldest of five of siblings, one brother and three sisters.\n\n\n\nJessie completed his formal years of school in the Richmond Public School System and went to work Ayders Carpet Warehouse, very talented carpet.\n\nHe was baptized at an early age. Jessie rededicated his life to Christ on August 6, 2022.\n\n\n\nOne of Jessie favorite pastime were fishing, you would always find him near the water. Jessie was blessed with a warm, beautiful smile that was a constant reassurance that everything would be alright. During his illness, he remained positive. He endured the struggle of sickness with grace and dignity. When we was asked how he was doing, his response would be "I'm doing ok." He never complained.\n\n\n\nThanking God for the opportunity to share in Jessie life and celebrating his transition to everlasting life are: his devoted wife, Yvette Brown; his mother, Lula Mae Brown; seven children, Teenora (Ron), Travis, Latice, Jessie, Terrell (Tarkita), Jessica (Jason) and Lamont Brown; three sisters; Carolyn Brown, Terry Hill (Glen) and Tina Brown (Shirley); one brother, Roosevelt Brown; sixteen grandchildren, Oscar, Javronna, Kenneth, Aaliyah, Ashley, Tre'Ron. Da'Ron, La'Ron, Za'Ron, Je'Keika, Ja'Keira, Cayson, Ti'Yon, Maurice, Christopher, and Trianna, one aunt, Rev. Kay Word (Phil); Two uncles, James Johnson and Roosevelt Johnson; Mother-in-law, Joyce Cuffee, Sister-in-law, Earlene Meredith(Ronald), Alvina Jones and host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends; two dedicated friends, Mike Baker and James Simms.\n\nFuneral service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1 PM at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St.
