Mrs. Joanna McCarr, of Richmond, departed this life October 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward McCarr; and daughter, Sharon Jackson. She is survived by her daughters, Valria Azanama (Victor), Sheila Battle (Frank), Nova Cooper and Leatrice Sims (Charles); a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, eight siblings, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where the family will receive friends Friday (today), 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25, 12 noon, at New Deliverance Evangelistic Church, 1701 Turner Road. Bishop Gerald O. Glenn, pastor, officiating. Interment Maury Cemetery.
