On Tuesday, December 9, 1951, Marjorie Shepperson and Edward Taylor was blessed with a beautiful set of twins. First to make an appearance was JoAnne Francis Taylor. JoAnne transitioned from this life on September 2, 2022, at the blessed age of 70 after a courageous battle with cancer. Her parents preceded her in death.\n\n\n\nJoJo, as many called her was educated in Chesterfield, Va., as well as Richmond. She also attended J. Sargent Reynolds, as well as ECPI. She worked for and retired from the American Tobacco Company, but still worked at numerous jobs until she had to stop due to Tardive Dyskinesia.\n\n\n\nJoAnne was born again at the age of 31 and attended First Independent Methodist Church until it grew and transitioned into Crusade for Christ Christian Church Ministries. There she met a host of lifelong friends and was reunited with family and schoolmates. While there she worked in and was rewarded for being an active member of numerous ministries such as, Crusaders for Christ, Kids Korner, Camp Crusade, missionary, choir member and benevolent ministries. Pretty much, whatever was required, she willingly did.\n\n\n\nJoAnne was a published Author of "Glorifying God in Poetry". She was a lover of God's people and would give her last just to see them smile, then pray over them and speak life into dark situations.\n\n\n\nSome of JoAnne's favorites things were plain Lay's potato chips, ginger ale, German chocolate cake, butter pecan ice cream, gospel choirs, Earth Wind & Fire, doing the wobble, Pink Champagne, jewelry and a fly pant suit. Her favorite colors were purple, pink, grey, brown and red.\n\n\n\nJoAnne leave to cherish her memories two children, Julian Taylor and Nichole Taylor-Alexander; three grandchildren, Jerrold, Jada and Jerod Alexander; six siblings, Deloris Taylor, Joyce Abdul-Hamid, Julian Taylor (twin), Bevely Taylor (Patricia) and Larry Taylor (Julia); a host of\n\ngod-children, Johnathan, Tressy, Katina, Adrianne, Dawn and actually a few more; and a cadre of nieces and nephews who really loved JoAnne.\n\n\n\nA Graveside service will be held Friday, September 9, 2022, 1:00 PM at Maury Cemetery, 2700 Maury Street.
