Kendra Renae Irby, age 49. entered eternal rest on June 10, 2025 at Home in Richmond, Va. She was born on May 20, 1976 at MCV to the late Benjamin Irby Sr. and Anne Jackson in Richmond, VA.
Kendra leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured in years, but in the lives, she touched, the love she gave, and the joy she brought into every room she entered. Known for being the life of the party, she could turn any gathering into a celebration, any ordinary day into a memory. Her spirit was light as a feather and her heart overflowed with kindness, generosity, and compassion.
Kendra opened her home, her arms, and her heart to all—earning her the name “Auntie-Mama” from the many nieces, nephews, and family friends who knew her not just as family, but as safe haven and sanctuary. She would give you her last, her time, her energy—often even the shirt off her back—without ever expecting anything in return.
She now enters heaven hand in hand with Kenyon, joining her mother, father, stepfather, brother (Tim) and her beloved son (Taron) whom she missed so dearly. Together, they are reunited in a love that death could never steal.
She leaves behind her devoted daughter Keymiyah Irby, her eldest son Dequon Irby (Asia Irby), two beautiful grandchildren Melody and Lyrica Irby, two sisters Wanda and Lynette Irby, two brothers Benjamin Jr (Cindy) and Micheal (Sonya) Irby, Goddaughter Jameisha Allen, 11 nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends who will carry on her legacy of laughter, resilience, and unconditional love. Though her physical presence has departed this earth, her spirit remains with us—watching, guiding, and protecting.
She gave all of herself while she was here… and now, it’s her time to rest. Fly high, Queen. You’re finally home.
