Kyle LaCabe McGhee "Baby Boy", 47, of Richmond, VA died April 4, 2022 in hospice care at his grandmother's home, with his mother at his side and surrounded by family and friends.\n\nHe was married to Martine S. McGhee, they were best friends and soulmates that shared a unique love and constant laughter. \n\nBorn in Richmond, VA. he was the son of Mary Peteet McGhee of Chicago, Illinois and the late great RVA Minister of Music, Frank J. McGhee, Sr. of Northfork, West Virginia.\n\nKyle graduated from George Wythe High School, with the class of 1992. He accepted a football scholarship from Hampton University and completed three years before he was injured in a car accident.\n\nKyle spent the last 15 years managing his care as a heart transplant recipient; and assisting his wife with raising 3 young men that he loved as his sons. Kyle lived a full life. For him, the quality of his life was far greater than the quantity. \n\nBesides his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, June Peeler, Willie McGhee, Sr., William Peteet, Sr., and Louise McGhee; uncles, William 'Brother' Peteet, Jr., Willie McGhee and John Nolley.\n\nAlong with his mother and wife, he is survived by his 90 year old grandmother, Eloise Peteet; three sons, Caelan Himmel, Caurey Moore and Christian Moore; brothers, Frank LeMoyne McGhee (Carmen) of Ashburn, VA, Terry Irving of Washington, DC, Darrell J. Johnson of Fort Washington, MD; one sister-in-law, Reina Robinson of Petersburg, VA; five nieces, Shannon Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Brittney McGhee of Varina, VA, Kichiri Irving of VA, Jordan T. McGhee of Ashburn, VA and Chiara R. Johnson of Fort Washington, MD; three nephews, Frank C. McGhee, III, Luc L. McGhee and Kalo McGhee all of Ashburn, VA; nine aunts, Barbara McGhee Grant, Alice Woolridge (Daniel), Mary Nolley, Linda Towers (Jimmy Dale), Barbara Peteet, Billie Garrett (Godfrey), Pauline Bass, Renee Peteet, Tonjia Peteet and LaShawnda Peteet-Davis; five great nephews and one great niece; a host of cousins and other close family members; including his special childhood and college friends; Marcellus (Tuck) Tucker, Jr., Kevin (Snooty) Taylor, Alvin (Mousie) Dickerson, Mario (D-Head) Harris, Michael Finch, Robert (Todd) Braxton, Aaron Foster, James (Junie) Harris, Windsor Edwards, Maurice Smithers, James (Boo) Wynn, Eric Cheatham, Terrell 'Pup' Porter and Norris Whitehead. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Heart Association in memory of Kyle L. McGhee.\n\nViewing will be held from 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM on Monday, April 11, 2022. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St. Interment Private.
