Rev. Dr. Laverne Robertson, born in Richmond, VA, on December 3, 1953, touched the lives of many through her remarkable journey. She attended Armstrong High School and continued her education at Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA. Her passion for learning led her to complete a PhD in Education from Argosy University.
As a co-founder of the Virginia Triumphant College & Seminary, alongside her late husband, Dr. Alfred Goodwein, Rev. Dr. Laverne dedicated her life to the pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of humankind. Her commitment to this vision only grew stronger after the passing of Dr. Alfred Goodwein.
Rev. Dr. Laverne was preceded in death by her loving parents, Mother Rosa Robertson and Rev. Dr. Walter Robertson Sr.; her beloved siblings, Merrill Robertson Sr. and Virginia Dean Robertson-Terry; sister in law Jeri E. Robertson, brother in law Leon Terry; and her dear nephews, Jerry Christopher, Walter, and Leon.
She leaves behind a devoted family, including a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and her two brothers. Rev. Dr. Laverne's legacy also lives on through her countless friends and alumni, who were deeply touched by her heart and soul.
Rev. Dr. Laverne Robertson's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and community. Her memory will forever be cherished by all those whose lives she enriched.
