Mrs. Magdalene D. Armstead, of Richmond, departed this life November 4, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband, Dannie E. Armstead Sr. She is survived by her children, Herbert Sr. (Geraldine), Clifton Sr. (Jean), Dannie Armstead Jr., Rev. Marilyn Heckstall (Morris Odusanya), Wayne Armstead (Tannice) and Colette Brown; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florine Drumgole and Mary Woolridge; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where the family will receive friends Friday (today), 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 8, at 11 a.m. at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, 2600 Gravel Hill Rd. Rev. Louis Jones, pastor, officiating.
