Mary C. Thomas

Mary Catherine Thomas departed this life peacefully on December 6, 2021 in Midlothian, Virginia at the age of 88. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Mr. Add Thomas, Jr.; one daughter, Rev. Dr. Katherine Clay Bassard (Mark); two sons, Mr. David Clay and Mr. Dwayne Thomas (Angela); four grandchildren, Angelique Bassard Acciarito (Jonathan), Aures Thomas, Austin Bassard and Siena Thomas; one devoted sister, Mrs. Charlotte B. Wood; one devoted brother, Mr. Thomas L. Banks (Charlie); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Roscoe Banks, Sr., and Mrs. Lavinia Banks; her husband, David Odell Clay; and by three beloved brothers, Mr. Roscoe Banks, Jr., Mr. Randolph Banks, and Mr. Charles Banks. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Midlothian where she served as deaconess. A celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday December 14, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Mimms Funeral Home 1827 Hull Street in Richmond. Interment will follow at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia.
