Melvin Nathaniel Carter, Jr. (Mickey, Jr.) Obituary (1948 - 2017)

"Mickey Jr.," of Powhatan, leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Daisy L. Carter; two sons, Melvin III and Kevin Carter; four daughters, Consuela Roy, Jacqueline McQuinn, Angela Buchanan and Cynthia Brown; three brothers, Philander Carter (Helen), Jerome Carter (Christie) and Alvin Carter; two brothers-in-law, Mark and Joseph McQuinn; four sisters-in-law, Mary Edmonds, Rose McQuinn, Alethia Simms and Alice Anderson (Robert); 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces, nephews and host of devoted cousins, other relatives and friends, among them the Gospel Servants in which he formed and devoted church family. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, from 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Guildfirld Baptist Church, Powhatan, on Wednesday, May 31, at 1 p.m. Interment Church Cemetery.
