Michael E. Halford

–

Richmond, VA

Michael Emmett Halford "Mike Mike" was the son of Theresa Terry and Emmett Halford born on Sunday July 6, 1975 in Baltimore, Maryland and departed on Wednesday January 2, 2019 in Richmond, Virginia.

Virginia is for Lovers ....

is the Virginia State slogan and so also fitting to describe the core principle by which Mike carried himself. Those, who were blessed to call Mike family and friend, knew he loved with a big heart. Cooking was Mikes way of demonstrating his greatest love for all. He enjoyed gathering us together to indulge in a good meal, especially after he spent several hours ensuring he had gotten all the details to perfection.

Living his Best life....

was the motto Mike lived by. He walked and talked like he was larger than life which was partially the reason why he was so well liked and respected. Mike was raised in and proud to call the South-side of Richmond, Virginia his home. The boy from Walmsley Terrace who became the man he needed to be for his family and friends near and far. When Mike was around, you knew you were about to have the most fun and excitement you had in a long time. His smile was infectious, so he was well received and loved to laugh and show people a good time.

Patriarch....

Mike was nurturing and compassionate. He saw himself as a father figure to others young and old. He always felt he had some insight to share. He wanted to pass on his life lessons which helped many and at other times turned in to a heavy debate. At the end, he would always say, "I'm trying to get you to see my vision". And, at the same time, he was the person to support and believe in your vision until you believed it possible. Mike always exhibited a presence of gentleness which pierced his huge persona.

He is preceded in death by his son Ki'Michael Halford, devoted uncle Eugene Terry (Inez Terry), and cousin Adrian Mayo. He leaves to cherish in his memory a father Emmett Halford (Karen) and mother Theresa Terry Freggins (Linwood); fiance LeKisha Brown; two sons DiMichael Halford and Kerondre Harris; two daughters Tiarra Brown and Ca'leyah Halford; four brothers Emmett (Kimberly), Donnell (Christine), Jamaal, and Maalik; four sisters Karnice Daley (Christopher), Brittany, Myeisha, and Myasia; six nephews Delyle Lewis (Nicole), Omari, Aston, Kameron, Kayden, and Jamaal Jr.; four nieces Jamira, Lydia, Mercedes, and Alexus; one grandson, Messiah Williams; one great niece Naomi Lewis; a host of devoted aunts Mildred Terry, Barbara Jefferson; uncles Bruce Terry, James Terry; cousins Niquita Jefferson, Arnicea Terry, Akina Jones (Redd), Dinesha Myles (Keith), Makeia Terry, Shernia Mayo, and James Terry Jr.; and many other loved family and friends.
