Naseem Karim King

–

Richmond, Virginia

Born on July 28, 2006, Naseem brought light and laughter into every room he entered. He was the kind of soul who found joy in life’s simple pleasures and always wanted to be a helping hand to anyone around him. Naseem always enjoyed a good meal, a well-earned win in a video game with his closest friends, and time spent with the people he loved most. Whether he was hanging out with his siblings or checking in on someone he cared about, Naseem’s presence was always sincere and grounding.

His mother, Makeda King, Naseem was a source of strength, tenderness, and deep emotional connection. She will never forget the warmth of his smile or how he instinctively knew when to wrap her in a hug—his way of saying, “I’m here, I’ve got you.”

His father, Quincy Johnson, Naseem will forever be remembered for those unexpected but
comforting check-ins, where he’d simply call and say, “Dad, you alright?”—just enough to say, I love you, without needing to say much more.

Naseem is survived by his parents, Makeda King and Quincy Johnson; his stepmother, Althea Johnson; his beloved grandfather Robert Johnson, his four loving siblings, Ma’ia King, Quincyuna Johnson, Quintyn Johnson, and Asaria Johnson; his cousin-siblings, Devon Cyrille, Faith Cyrille, and Phillip Bowling; and his aunts and uncles, Teneka and Troy Geritol, Lester King, Robin Johnson, and Keith Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Cheryal Ann King, Ira King, Carol
Johnson, as well as his beloved great-grandmother, Eula Mae Williams, his uncle Robert
Johnson Jr, and his aunt Debra Jean Fowler. Their memories remain a part of his story, and we take comfort in knowing he is embraced by their love in eternal rest.
