Otis Ratliff, Jr., went to be with the Lord on March 23, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Ratliff, Sr.; mother, Mattie Watson and son, Carlos Ratliff. Otis leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Dianne; sons, Jeffrey, Rodney and Joshua; stepson, Timothy; daughters, Sophia and Kiara; stepdaughter, Kristal (Clarence)l; brother, Vernon; sister, Gail; brother-in-law, Howard Jackson Jr.; sisters-in-law, Joanne Pyndell (Robert) and Rev. Deborah Simmons (Cecil); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Otis worked for the City of Richmond as a heavy duty truck operator for 37 years. After retiring from the City of Richmond, he went on to work as a contract employee at MCV Hospital where he worked for several years. In his earlier years Otis was a member of Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church and served on the Men's Choir and would often pick up church goers who needed a ride to Church. He enjoyed listening to old gospel music and hearing the Word of God. Otis was a member of the Jackson Street Volunteer Men's Club and worked closely with the Pinto Youth Club sponsored by the Richmond Community Action Program also known as RCAP. Otis and his daughter Sophia also represented the City in 1987 in the March of Dimes Walkathon to raise money for birth defects, walking 18.6 miles in 12 hours. Otis was known as "Rat". He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially old Western movies. His favorite sport was football, with his favorite team being the one and only Dallas Cowboys!
