Otto Arnold Peterson, Jr., of Henrico, Virginia departed this life on April 5, 2018 at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was born on June 16, 1940 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina to the late Selma Burston and Otto Arnold Peterson, Sr.\n\nOtto received his education in Edgecombe County Schools in North Carolina.\n\nDuring his early years, he was employed by Standard Paper Company, Coca Cola Plant, and Freeman Marks Clothing Company, Richmond, Virginia.\n\nGod placed in his spirit, a desire to start his own construction company, Peterson Contracting of Virginia, LTD and Otto Cleaning Service. With a pickup truck, an idea, determination, and God on his side, Otto established a business which spanned well over 45 years. He became a self-made successful business man, with the assistance and collaboration of his late wife Bobby Jean Peterson. Otto developed the concept concentrated specialty in "Selective Demolition" in the professional field of Construction.\n\nOtto was preceded in death by his wife Bobby Jean Peterson, and brother Darell Ellis.\n\nHe leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Karen Berry (Waverly), Theodora B. Turner, Adrian (A.J.) Williams, Jennifer Peterson, and Revardo Patterson; sisters, Bertha Lee Clarke, Doris Taylor, Linda M. Ellis, and brothers; Calvin Ellis, Frank C. Ellis, Jr.; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; devoted friends and family, Denise Valentine and Alfred C. Hunter (Sonny).\n\nOtto joined the Good Hopewell Baptist Church family and immediately joined the Greeters, Host and Hostess Ministry. Otto also served as a member of the Trustee Ministry of Good Hopewell Baptist Church. \n\nFuneral service Saturday, April 14, 2018 Mimms Chapel 3:30 PM. Interment Private.
