Pearl M. Harris of Richmond, VA passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2017. Born on May 10, 1938 to John and Mable (Epps) Mondrey, she had a sister that preceded her in death- Nancy and a surviving brother Harold Mondrey. Growing up in the Winterpok area of Chesterfield, VA, she met and married the late Corneilus K. Harris (Alfred and Katie). From this union 5 children were born, Corneilus "Kent" Harris Jr, Daffron V. Bell, Vickie R. Walton (Anthony), the late LaGerald McWilliams (Donald) and Natalya (Boo) Harris.\n\n\n\nAfter moving to Richmond, CK and Pearl built a life together where she worked as a successful Office Manager for Siegle's Supermarkets. For over 20 years she worked there until the transition to Community Pride. Soon after the perfect opportunity presented itself in the form of Davis Market on Grace St. She has often said that working here was the best experience due to her excellent friendship with the owner Mr. Ricky Davis and the many people she met and created meals for. Ms. Pearl also had a flair for fashion and was a fashionista in the making. Looking nice was very important to her.\n\n\n\nA devoted Jehovah's Witness, Sister Pearl was dedicated to her full time ministry work. She loved her religion, the good work she was doing for Jehovah's will and the many friends she made along the way. This was her passion. After she stopped working she dedicated her life and time to being a full time pioneer, something she was very proud of. Going to pioneer school was something she was very happy about. The knowledge she continued to gain was how she lived her life, taught her family and others she met daily. She enjoyed helping people and consistently made sure that HER SISTERS had a ride to the Kingdom Hall for the Sunday Meetings or any of the Conventions, anything they needed, really, if she could do it, she would.\n\n\n\nFaith and family were paramount to her, the most important things for her. Preceding her in death are her sister, her parents, her husband of 50 plus years and her daughter. Left to celebrate her memory are her brother, four surviving children, two sister's in law, Madline H. Street and Carolyn Mondrey, nine grandchildren, Dara, Devin, Kayla, Rashad, Darryl, Nicholas, Shauna, Christopher and TK. 11 great-grandchildren and a host of close cousins and family from VA, MD, NY, NJ as well as many close friends.\n\nServices will be held at Mimms Funeral Home 1827 Hull Street, Richmond, VA 23224 on March 4, 2017 at 11a.
