Quincilee White Obituary (1929 - 2016)

" Be thou faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of life" Revelation 2:10 The Lord looked into His garden for a special one of His own. On November 6, 2016, He chose Quincilee Carter White . She peacefully went home to glory to receive her crown of life. Quincilee Carter White was born September 23, 1929 to the late Virginia Yorkley and Wilbur Carter. She attended Richmond Public School and graduated from Maggie Walker High School. She married the late Ellis (Billy) White Sr. in June, 1947. From this marriage three children were born, Valory Lee White, Ellis Lorenzo White and Belinda Gail White. Quincilee Carter White was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church for over 60 years. She attended Tuesday Bible Class and was a member of the Church Interest Activity Ministry, Kitchen Ministry, Missionary Ministry, and Senior Citizen Seasoned Praise Dance Ministry. Whenever she could, with oxygen in tow, she loved to praise and worship at Future Church of Christ Holiness, USA as well. Unbeknown to many, at the tender age of 80, she helped deliver Meals on Wheels. Quincilee Carter White retired from Philip Morris in 1985 as a Machine Operator . After retirement, she helped support the family restaurant business of her late husband (Billy) at Billy's Seafood Market . They ran Billy's Seafood Market for 25 great years. They gave back to the community in services and goods , as well as in their loving, kindness and generous hearts to the people of Southside Community. She also owned and operated her own "Quincy's Ribs Shack" for a short time as well . Quincilee Carter White was a diehard Redskins fan. At Super bowl gatherings, she would narrate the entire game no matter who was winning. She loved going out to restaurants, eating chocolate ice cream "every night " and drinking coffee daily. She was known to speak her mind on most any subjects. She had the unique ability to take a serious topic/situation and bring humor and relief to it. To all that really knew her, "Hey Mary" was her signature greeting. With such a loving, caring and helpful spirit, she utilized her gifts of help and hospitality to take care of and serve so many others . Her giving spirit ignited a smile on any and all faces that she encountered. Her special prayer was "Lord keep me, so I can keep others." She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis L. White Sr.,(Billy) her son, Ellis L. White Jr., and her daughter, Valory L. White. She leaves to mourn a devoted daughter, Belinda G. White, a daughter-in-law Gwendolyn White, granddaughter , Shannon L White , six grandsons, Vincent Ellis White, Devon Ellis Minor, Ellis Lorenzo White III, Brandon Ellis White, Justin Alan White, and Ellis Lorenzo Miles, seven great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be Held Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1:00 PM Mimms Chapel. Interment Maury Cemetery.
