Rashad Y. Baylor

Rashad Baylor was born on April 23, 1978, to Brenda Holloway and Joseph Baylor. On June 20, 2025, Rashad entered into eternal rest and is now rejoicing in heaven.

He was lovingly welcomed by those who preceded him in death, including his beloved grandmothers Irene Holloway & Vernell Williams; uncles Henry “Dust,” Richard Jr. “Pludy,” and Gregory “Rat”; aunts Belinda “Lin” and Cora; his brother Wilbert “Jake” Bellamy; and his bonus son, Myeek Anderson.

Rashad leaves to cherish his memory his devoted son, Rakee Baylor; his beloved grandchildren, Rakee Jr. and Journei; his mother Brenda Holloway (Darrel); his father Joseph Baylor (Rosa); and his loving siblings: Ashunti, Ayana, Shannon, Mecca, Joseph Jr. and Wesley and Uncles Ryland” Bubba” and Arthur Lee.

He is also remembered with love by his nephews and nieces: Earl “E”, Anthone “Tone Tone” affectionately nicknamed by Rashad as “Fat Duck”, Mila, Jazmine, Aniyah, Juju, Chloe, and Zoey; numerous loving cousins, amongst them devoted Latanya, Shahada, Carol, Tiara, Rochelle, Sonya, and Deon; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family, and friends.

Rashad loved God, his family, and embraced life on his own terms. At the young age of seven, he was taught Psalm 23 by his beloved grandmother, Irene, at church, a scripture that stayed with him throughout his life.

He was a natural helper, a mentor, and a father figure. As a loyal son, brother, and friend, Rashad showed up for those he loved with unwavering devotion. Known for his quick wit and playful spirit, he was the life of the room; always ready with a joke, especially for those closest to him.

Rashad loved deeply and laughed often. Through life’s trials and triumphs, he grew stronger, striving to become the best version of himself. Whether through a phone call or a visit, he brought light and joy to his family. To those who knew and loved him, he was everything in life, and he continues to be everything in memory and beyond.
