Raymond Smith

Raymond F. Smith Jr. went home to be with his heavenly Father on Sunday., August 11, 2024. His remains rest at Mimi’s funeral home. Service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 1827 Hull Street, Richmond, VA at 1:00 pm.

Raymond Frizzel “Frizz” Smith departed this life on Sunday August 11, 2024. Raymond was the oldest of five children born to the late Raymond R. Smith and Lucinda W. Smith. Of Charlottesville, VA.

He was educated in Charlottesville public school system and later in Princess George County School System. He was an athlete and had a love for all sports. At times he could be the life of the party, but was a very private person. After high school ,he joined the armed services (Army). He retired and was currently working with Slurry Paving Company .

Raymond accepted Christ at a very early age at First Baptist church, Disputanta, VA. He loved worshipping and singing God’s praises . He leaves to cherish his memories three sons, Christopher Smith (Texas), Raymond Smith III and Carlisle Smith (New York). Three sisters Sherry S. James(Mark) Evangeline S Green, and Cassandra S. Williams, one brother in law Rev.Victor Williams. Thirteen nieces and nephews: Kijuanis Smith (Marquita), Brandon James’s (Natasha), Mark James, jr (Vanessa), Tiffany Graves(Rayshawn), Victoria Smith (Quintin), Carlisle, Waddel, Zyshawn, Jamica, Venetia,Shearmond,Larkesha, Clifton,jr. One aunt Earline Suesberry (Los Angeles, CA), Margret Wyche (Disputanta, VA), Maxine Wyche (Ohio), a host of cousins family and friends.

Words cannot express the impact this loss has placed on in our lives.
