Rebecca Miller

Rebecca Irma Miller, age 74, was born in Cumberland, Virginia on April 28, 1952. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Midway Baptist Church. She attended Luther P. Jackson in Cumberland, Virginia. She transitioned to her eternal home on September 24, 2026, at the Robious Health and Rehab in Chesterfield, Virginia.

Rebecca was widely recognized for her strong work ethic, warmth, and dedication to serving those around her. Her career included more than 25 years with Bon Air Cleaners in Richmond, Virginia, as well as owning and operating a successful Jani-King franchise that serviced companies throughout the metro area. She completed her professional journey at the Virginia Correctional Center for Women (VCCW), where she worked until her well-earned retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee and Carrie Carter; first husband, James E. Whittle, Sr.; second husband, Benjamin Miller; two cherished sons, Rosevelt Whittle and Mario Stillwell Whittle; brother, Ernest Carter; and three sisters, Patty Carter, Carrie Carter, and Linda Carter.

Rebecca’s warmth and spirit live on through those she loved most. She leaves behind to treasure her memory her devoted daughter, Kimberly Holmes (Linwood Holmes, Sr.); son, James E. Whittle, Jr.; three grandchildren, Brittany Whittle, Linesha Whitlock (Chris Whitlock), and Linwood Holmes, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren who brought her boundless joy, Keaira Hudson, Elijah Whitlock, and Linwood Holmes III. She will also be deeply missed by her sisters, Earlean, Estelle, and Barbara Carter; brother, Donnie Carter; sister-in-law, Brenda Woodbury; devoted nephew, Reverend F. Wayne Henley; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, relatives, and lifelong friends.
