Richard "Roland" Greer, son of the late James Arthur Greer and Bessie Greer was born in Union, South Carolina on February 5, 1930. He received his wings on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at his home in North Chesterfield, Virginia.\n\n\n\nHe leaves to mourn his loving wife of 59 years, Lucinda; his sister Bessie of Philadelphia, PA; his 5 daughters, Catherine, Patricia, Katherine (son-in-law Robert), Victoria and Crystal and 2 sons, Leroy and Kurt; preceded in death his son, Eugene; he treasured his daughters-in-law Annette and Tanya; 34 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren including a set of identical twins, nieces and nephews who lovingly called him "Uncle Rol"\n\n\n\nRichard served several years as a police officer and a Master Mason of the Tyber Lodge No.4 in New York. After his retirement he moved his family to Richmond, VA where he became a self -made entrepreneur selling uniforms.\n\n\n\nAnyone who knew Richard "Mr. Greer" knew he loved cars. He loved driving (fast) and working on them. He enjoyed watching westerns, Walker Texas Ranger, Sanford and Son; and listening to all styles of music; his playlist, included country, 80's R&B and gospel music, especially the CD "Sacred" by Jeff Majors. Also was A Dallas Cowboys Fan!!!\n\n\n\nFuneral service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 1 PM at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St.
