Robin Lynette Barksdale-Brown passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Chippenham Johnston Willis Hospital. She was born on January 31,1958 in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Mr. Robert Barksdale and Mrs. Doris (Page) Barksdale. She was educated in the Richmond Public School System and attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she majored in Education. She had a passion for teaching the youth which\nled to her work as a teacher in the Richmond Public School system. Robin accepted Christ into her life at a young age and would eventually become an ordained minister of the Gospel. She grew up in Ebenezer A.M.E church where she was active in the choir and played the piano; she later joined Mt. Gilead FGIM where she would continue to sing and play. Throughout the years, Robin served on various helps ministries\nsuch as the: choir, ministerial staff, chorale, praise and worship team, and nursing home.\n\nShe enjoyed outreach and any opportunity she had to share the Gospel and the love of God. Her love for music and people impacted many lives.\nShe leaves to cherish her memories a husband, Walter Brown; three daughters, Ranesia Barksdale, RaShawnda Barksdale, and Robin-Renee (George) Johnson; seven grandchildren, Yasmeen Barksdale, Destiny Barksdale, DeShaun Barksdale-Hall, Madelynn Simms, Davion Creel, Dorian Creel, and George Johnson III; sister, Marilyn (Burke) Johnson; sisters-in-law, Hazel (Donald) Dowden, Kate Harris, Lucretia Brown, and Donnita\n(Tony) Wilkins; brothers-in-law, Ozell Brown and Walter Summerville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Robin's loving, comedic, energetic, and contagious spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.\n\nFuneral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 11 AM at Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries, 2501 Mt. Gilead Blvd. Chesterfield, VA.
