Rodney Priest

–

Midlothian, VA

Please join us in celebrating the life of Mr. Rodney Priest.
If you ever feel an obstacle in your path is too hard to overcome, think of this man. Rodney Priest. Affectionately known as Mr. P, Rolling Thunder, Hot Rod, Uncle Rod, and even Pudnik (don't kill me, dad). He graced the earth from September 8, 1957 to April 26, 2020. He was the epitome of perseverance and will. He beat more odds than all multiples of 2. Rodney was a math whizzing, Jeopardy answering, Sunday's paper crossword solving man of integrity. He was tough and consistent, while also giving and noble. He was a Marine Corps veteran who never did anything halfway. He loved life on Guam with his wife and daughter, and made it his home. After suffering a terrible spinal cord injury, Mr. Priest rehabilitated and reset. Refusing to be setback, he attained his BSW and went on to make a memorable impact in the social work community on both the island of Guam and the state of Virginia. He hosted a radio talk show as The Rolling Thunder, connecting people in need with resources available to help their situations. His experiences allowed him to help others focus on people's abilities, and become better versions of themselves. Defeat is never an option.
His memory is carried on by his devoted and patient wife, Elisa, his favorite and sometimes nagging daughter, Tonja, and grandchildren whose photos he would share with everyone he could, Xavier, Alexia, and Alaia; his siblings and forever partners in crime, Waun (wife Bea), Tyvania, Constance, and Frieda, his youthful Aunt Laura "Katie", and several other loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law, and extended family.
Rodney is joining his beautiful mother, Maezelle Brown, father, John Priest, and his baby brother, Frank Priest, to remind us of life's blessings.
