Rubyette S. Clark Obituary (1936 - 2017)

Born in Waskom, Texas and raised in Dallas, she was the third of six children born to Susie Victoria Fields and Ruben Sneed. At the age of 18 Rubyette moved to San Francisco attended college, met and married John D.Clark, Jr. This union brought forth three children Carolyn, Linda and John lll. By her husbands side, she joined 2nd Union Baptist Church and later Paradise Baptist Church where she serve on the Ushers Ministry, Sunday School Ministry, and Deaconess Ministry. In 1975, the family moved to Virginia and joined First Baptist Church Centralia and she continued serving in various ministries and the Deaconess Ministry. Her passion was seeing others feel welcome and comfortable as they entered new surroundings. This passion led her to actively support and engage in "family fun night" on Fridays bringing Christian fellowship and family fun together. Rubyette also served by supporting the new member's ministry ensuring new members feel the love and support of the First Baptist Centralia family. She found purpose in sharing with new members the church's rich history and abundant ministries opportunities. She was committed to service and blessing others through her services with the Golden Fleet ministry and the Haven for Hope fund raising committee. She loved and cherished her family. Rubyette always encouraged family and strangers alike to seek God first and to pursue their life dreams. She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband John D. Clark, Jr., her three children; Carolyn Clark-Swan, Linda Myrick and son and daughter in law John D. Clark, III and Soukhy Clark; grandchildren: Jerome, Jason, Annie, Eric, Joseph, Renard, Dionna, LeAndra, MeLynda, Maya, Jonathan, Rebekah and Isabella; and great grandchildren;Tiawan, Deeon, Daija, Trinity, Renard, Chike, Devin, Deonna, Mike Jr., Kellah, Kenndi, Kason, Ryan, Kania, and Keivon sisters; Ruth A. Sneed-Ballard and Pearl F. Naylor; God-daughter and son; Denise Wise and Charles David and life long best friends; Reatha and Willie Nash and William Rogers Trent. Remains rest Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull Street. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 11:00AM at First Baptist Church 2920 Kingsdale Road, Dr. W. E.
