Sherrell D. Robinson

–

Richmond, Virginia

With heavy hearts, we remember Sherrell D. Robinson, lovingly known as Big Lou, Lucy, and Rell by those who knew and loved her best. Born on November 3, 1978, in Richmond, VA, Sherrell was a spirited and adventurous soul who brought laughter and joy to every room she entered. If you truly knew Big Lou, then you knew she was a woman who spoke her mind, lived by her own rules, and loved without reservation. She entered eternal rest on April 5, 2026 surrounded by family. While she departed this life far too soon, she leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unforgettable joy.

Sherrell was educated in Richmond Public Schools and furthered her studies at J.Sargeant Reynolds Community College and John Tyler Community College. She grew up in the church at Providence Baptist Church in Aylett, Virginia, where her foundation in faith was established early in life. More recently, she continued her
spiritual journey at Speaking Spirit Ministries in Richmond, Virginia.

Sherrell cherished her upbringing and shared many fond childhood memories in Jackson Ward, where lifelong friendships were formed and treasured. Among her many professional roles, the one closest to her heart was serving as a substance abuse counselor at Rubicon Women's Treatment Community in Richmond, Virginia. Through this work, she poured into others with empathy, understanding, and a genuine desire to see lives restored.

"Big Lou" is now heavenly reunited with her father; Richard Harvey Sr., maternal grandparents; Laura Robinson and Charlie Cooper, fraternal grandparents; Charlie (Susie) Harvey and brother; Richard Harvey, Jr. Her cherished memories will forever live on in the hearts of her mother; Cynthia Robinson-Harvey, seven children; Aaliyah Johnson, Arturo Friend, Arturion Friend, Adrianna Robinson, Innocence Robinson, Sha'jeh Robinson and Aaniyah Robinson, sister; Joanne Robinson, brother; Jabri White, God sister; Chamique Hayes, three adored grandchildren; Amir Friend, Arnouriana Friend, and Kanyla Newsome, a beloved
dog; Andy, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Sherrell's life is a true testament to living fully and loving deeply. May we always remember her smile. The one that made everything feel ok, even on the hardest days. Not only was it beautiful, but it was her way of loving us without saying a word. We honor her memory and will carry her spirit with us today and always.
