Richmond, Virginia
Sherwin was born on October 10, 1950, and was called to his heavenly home on January 22, 2026. He lived a life surrounded by care, familiarity, and the steady presence of people who knew and loved him.
Sherwin was a resident of the Reservoir group home, where he shared his days with five housemates and a dedicated team of staff who provided him with consistent care, attention, and affection. Sherwin had intellectual disabilities and those closest to him understood the importance of meeting him where he was - honoring his preferences, routines, and need for connection.
He found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures. Sherwin loved nature, especially being near water, and enjoyed taking walks in his neighborhood. One of his favorite activities was humming and listening along to Oldies music. He appreciated being catered to and thrived on attention., often seeking instant gratification and reassurance from the staff that knew him best.
Sherwin will be remembered for the way he lived authentically, for the bonds he formed with his housemates and caregivers, and for the lasting impact he had on those that walked beside him each day.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory dear friend Valerie Taylor, Reservoir Lane ICF Family, and the entire CRi community.
"Well done, good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of your Lord."
