Shirley M. Brown

BROWN, Mrs. Shirley M., of Richmond, departed this life September 19, 2010. She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Cordelia Bailey; six sons, Marvin Lee Bailey (Gloria), Milton Carl Bailey Sr. (Eliza), Elton Bruno Bailey, Lynn Dexter Bailey Sr. (Barbara), Tony Anthony Brown (Ronnetta) and Reginald Brown; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, nine sisters, Helen McDaniels, Dorothy Copeland, Alice Jean Anthony, Floridean Williams, Florine Warren, Mary Williams, Brenda Alexander (Herman), Barbara Threatt (Benjamin) and Gwendolyn Nicholson (Robert); three brothers, O'Bryant Alston, John W. "JW" Evans (Carolyn) and Glenn Whitaker (Jean); one aunt, Pattie Peoples; two uncles, Elbert and Zollie Wilkins; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull Street, Richmond, Va., where the family will receive friends Friday, September 24, from 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 25, at 2 p.m. at White Oak Baptist Church, 1612 White Oak Rd., Enfield, N.C. 27823. Interment in the church cemetery.
