On October 17, 2026 our beloved and devoted VINCENT MONROE ROSS, JR fondly known as” Vince, V, VV, Mister V, Senior, Uncle V and cousin V.,” exhaled his last breath. He was the only son of the late Vincent Ross, Sr AND Audrey Christian Ross. Vincent Jr. was born in Richmond, Virginia on September 5, 1980.
Vincent Jr. honored his father’s wishes and served as the sole caregiver and protector of his mom, Audrey Ross, until his final day on earth. He loved the Lord, was actively involved and a faithful member of New Life Outreach Church – where he worked with the youth and children’s ministry. Vincent was raised in a home where faith was the foundation of his daily life. He wrote a children’s book “Sleepy feels Left Out’.
Vincent lived his life on his own terms. He had a warm giving, loving spirit, always willing to help others the best he could. He loved his family and was always present in truth and deed. Especially his basketball team at Monacan High School, where he served as a basketball coach and assistant coach for many years until his health limited his abilities to continue at high speed. He never wavered in his dedication and commitment to his team and love of the game. He was an outstanding mentor and role model for the players and staff.
Vincent received his early education in the Richmond Public Schools, graduating from Huguenot High School in 1998. He attended John Tyler Community College and Viginia Commonwealth University. He was employed as a manager of an Adult Daycare Center and later became a teacher’s assistant in Richmond Public Schools.
Vincent leaves to Cherish his memory: his mother Audrey C. Ross, sister Belinda Gaines, niece Kyiesha Redden, beloved mentee Shiyanbade Zigg (Zion). Vincent aunts: Maxine Lee, Thelma Lightfoot (John), Patricia Christian (Larry), Lamar Jeanie Jones, Ethel Thompson (George), and an uncle Lester Christian.
Vincent had great nieces and a nephew, and a host of cousins and friends.
