Walker\n\nWillie Jerome "Scooty" Walker, passed away peacefully at home in Spanaway, Washington, after a brief but valiant fight on Thursday, September 18, 2014, at the age of 73. Willie was born on March 30, 1941, in Petersburg, Va., to the late Herbert Walker and Esther Wallace Walker. He is survived by his daughter, Natalie Marie Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Willie retired from the USAF after more than 24 years of distinguished service. He then began an exemplary 20-year career of public service for the State of Washington, as an invaluable member of the Department of General Administration. Willie will be laid to rest in Virginia with full military honors. \n\nIn lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to the Wounded Warriors Project, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States or the American Cancer Society. The celebration of life will occur at Mimms Funeral Home, located at 1827 Hull St., Richmond, Va. 23223, on Friday, October 3, 2014, beginning with the viewing at 10 a.m., followed promptly with the service at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
